I'm a bit far away from them but there are usually some from time to time in Manchester area for the north west area quite a few meets in and around the London area. Kent can be quite a good scene. I'm into car detailing/cleaning and went to a good meetup in Gillingham a couple of years back to meet some Detailing World guys and gals and it was a pretty good turn out of Aston Martins, etc...

With detailing I don't think it's that sort of meet up. It's more experiencing new products and techniques and an appreciation of looking after cars, etc... and not taken too seriously about who's is the best but how best to do it.

Waxstock each year is a good show mixing a car show with car cleaning.

Individual car groups have meet ups from time to time so you could try some of your local car groups and check out the lay of the land.

I was hoping for Oppo meets really. I'd rather go to a meet full of like minded people with cars I DON'T have. I can't imagine a Landrover meet is the most thrilling occasion. 'Oh what's that, a 2.5 diesel? Yeh me too'

I went to a German Car Fest down south and for a detailer it was horrific, swirls, RDS, marring, etc... everywhere while people just went 'hey look at my BMW', 'hey look at my Audi', etc... none (except the classic car owners) had the slightest interest in keeping a car clean.

Try a few out and find whats right for you. Some sound the ticket but the experience is different and some that sound dull as dish water are just what the doctor ordered.

Good point; my sense of direction is terrible! Manc's a good place, I'm going to be travelling all around the country for conventions next year so I'm likely to be about at some stage :)
